Terry Matsunaga, PhD, professor of medical imaging in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, was elected as a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). The NAI Fellows Program highlights academic inventors who have demonstrated a spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating inventions that have a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society. Dr. Matsunaga’s current research focuses on using contrast-enhanced ultrasound and microbubble technology for cancer imaging as well as drug and gene delivery.
We are pleased to announce that all our residency positions successfully filled during this year's main match for our two residency programs. The ten new radiology residents join the Diagnostic Radiology and the Interventional Radiology-Integrated Residency Training Programs in July 2023.

Dr. Young joins us from the University of Minnesota where he served as an associate professor of radiology specializing in interventional radiology.

With profound sadness, we share the news that valued colleague and friend, Dr. Terry Ovitt, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2022 after a brief illness. For nearly 50 years, Dr. Ovitt has been a guiding light providing compassionate care to thousands of patients within Tucson and beyond.

This annual award recognizes individuals who invest in furthering the profession of radiology by delivering high-quality educational content in their field of study. Dr. Rubin is a renowned expert in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary imaging.

Dr. Maria Altbach was honored during a recent faculty meeting for her dedication and contributions over five years as Vice Chair of Research.
