Congratulations to IR Resident, David McNiel, MD, PhD

Congratulations to Integrated Interventional Radiology Resident David McNiel, MD, PhD, who won first prize in the Biomedical Shark Tank Pitch Competition. His entry, “Transcatheter Hepatic Transfection of the Sodium Iodine Symporter: Towards Oral Radioiodine Segmentectomy,” took first place among seven competing submissions. Part of the UArizona College of Medicine Research Day 2022, the Shark Tank was hosted by Marvin J. Slepian, MD who served on the judges panel with four other experts from the UArizona College of Engineering, UArizona Campus Research Corporation, and the College of Medicine Departments of Surgery and Cellular and Molecular Medicine. Dr. McNiel is pictured with his $5,000 award.
