Welcome

The Department of Medical Imaging supports four ACGME accredited Residency training pathways, a Diagnostic Radiology Residency program, a Diagnostic Radiology Residency with Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR), and both an Integrated and Independent IR Residency.

The Independent Interventional Radiology Pathway was recently accredited. This program serves the second year of a two-year training program for the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR), after Residents graduate from the diagnostic residency program.

Besides our dedicated faculty, plus a top-notch medical school and excellent hospital affiliation, Tucson offers a wealth of cultural and artistic amenities, in addition to its physical beauty. With its long tradition as a university town, Tucson is a hub of diversity and intellectual pursuits, and a great place to raise a family.

We invite you to see all these for yourself as you make your future professional decisions.

Sincerely,
Gregory Woodhead, MD, PhD
