The Department of Medical Imaging is pleased to have Julio Cárdenas-Rodríguez, PhD, presenting at our Grand Rounds on Wednesday, April 13th, in COM, Room 2117, at 12:00 pm. Dr. Cárdenas-Rodríguez is Assistant Professor of Medical Imaging and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Cárdenas-Rodríguez was born and raised in Mexico City, México. He moved to the USA in 2007 to pursue a PhD after working several years performing research at Merck & Co. He joined the University of Arizona as a Research Professor in October of 2013, and he is doing research aimed at creating new tools to study the cell signaling of cancer in preclinical model and in human subjects. His laboratory creates new contrast agents and imaging sequences for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Optoacoustic Imaging (OAI).
