Speaker: Steve Ferrara, MD, FACR, FSIR

The Department of Medical Imaging is honored to have Steve Ferrara, MD, FACR, FSIR, presenting at our Grand Rounds on Wednesday, July 17th, in the College of Medicine, Room 2117, at 12:00 pm.

Steve Ferrara, MD, FACR, FSIR, is an Interventional Radiologist and retired Navy Captain. In his nearly 30-year career, he has had many diverse professional opportunities in the clinical, policy, and leadership realms. Dr. Ferrara is a combat veteran with multiple worldwide deployments with the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. In 2009, he was the first to bring game-changing endovascular therapies to the battlefields of Afghanistan. He is the Navy’s former Chief Medical Officer and served as a National Academy of Sciences Congressional Health Policy Fellow, where he was instrumental in authorship of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA). In 2018, Dr. Ferrara was his party’s nominee for United States Congress in Arizona’s 9th Congressional District. He is a nationally-renowned speaker and author and is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology and the Society of Interventional Radiology.
