MI Grand Rounds: The Role of Imaging in the Treatment of Brain Tumors

 UArizona College of Medicine - Tucson Department of Radiation Oncology Chair, Baldassarre Stea, MD, PhD, FASTRO presents, "The Role of Imaging in the Treatment of Brain Tumors" will be presented by Dr. Stea on December 6, 2023.

Dr. Stea is a professor of Radiation Oncology at Banner University Medical Center - Tucson. After obtaining a PhD in Biochemistry from UCLA and an MD from George Washington University, he completed his residency at the NCI. He came to the University of Arizona in 1987 as an Assistant Professor and rose through the ranks to become the head of the department twenty (20) years ago. His clinical research is focused on advancing the field of brain tumor treatment with clinical trials.

Both technical innovations in treatment planning and improvement in medical imaging have contributed to significant increase in the longevity and quality of life in patients treated for brain metastases. The speaker will review advances in treatment modalities and results of clinical trials.
