Congratulations to the Interventional Radiology (IR) team for their trailblazing work. Pudendal Nerve Cryoneurolysis is a new treatment for pain management involving cryoablation. Aiming to help patients with pelvic tumors, the IR team has performed 10 successful cases since launching this treatment option in March. Patients report experiencing almost immediate relief from persistent and debilitating pain.
Through participation in weekly tumor board meetings, the IR Division has received referrals to treat patients who have had little success managing pain with traditional therapies. IR is working with UArizona’ s Research Innovation & Impact Institutional Review Board (IRB) to begin a Prospective Trial.
