My current research efforts are devoted to developing mathematical observers to implement classification or estimation tasks for various imaging applications. I have participated in published work and federally funded projects in this area for SPECT/CT, top of atmosphere remote sensing and industrial monitoring systems. In this wide range of application areas I have developed mathematical observers, created stochastic models of object ensembles, characterized the imaging forward problem, and applied task-based measures of observer performance for system design or optimum information extraction.
