Director, Nuclear Radiology Fellowship Program

Dr. Hongyun June Zhu is Board Certified in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology. She is currently a faculty member in the Department of Medical Imaging, Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Arizona, Banner University Medical Center Tucson.

Research Interests:

Medical image processing and computation for disease specific diagnosis.
Using PETCT and MRI in the surveillance of patients treated for Multiple Myeloma and other malignancy.
Using mixed bio distributions from multiple medical imaging modalities to evaluate the dosimetry of molecular tracers. Combining modalities with anatomical and tracer kinetics information, in small animals and humans to reduce the cost of dosimetry.
Exploring the creation of structured patient study report templates that can easily be searched for retrospective studies
Image fusion for SPECT, PET, CT and MRI.
Small animal imaging using Micro-SPECT/PET/CT/MRI.
