Optical Imaging

Research in optical imaging concentrates on the development and use of advanced optical instrumentation for biomedical applications. Major research work is ongoing in areas related to the development of advanced optical microscopes, optical endoscopes and microendoscopes, and multi-modality imaging of window chamber models of breast cancer. The Department of Medical Imaging and the College of Optical Sciences maintain a close and synergistic relationship, whose primary aim is to advance the successful utilization of optics in medicine and the translation of optical technologies into clinical care.
