Dr. Borders is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiology, and since 2009, has served as the Co-Medical Director and Co-Section Chief of Breast Imaging at Banner University Medical Center. Dr. Borders was employed as a private practice breast imager prior to returning to her current position in the academic setting. Her experiences have enabled her to practice with thorough attentiveness to the most minute of details, highly accurate procedural skills, and a compassionate and hands-on approach with her patients. She takes great pride in being a competent breast imager and in her kind and approachable nature. Her current academic position allows her to not only interpret a vast number of screening and diagnostic breast imaging studies, and to perform various image-guided breast procedures, but to teach her specialty to fellows, residents and medical students on a daily basis. The Breast Imaging Center plays an integral role in diagnosing and managing various breast problems, including breast cancer, and the doctors at the center work closely with the other breast specialists at our hospital. As part of this role, Dr. Borders and her colleagues take an active lead in a weekly multi-disciplinary breast care conference that is held at the Arizona Cancer Center.
