Topic: Locoregional Therapy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Post Treatment Imaging

The Department of Medical Imaging is pleased to have Mikin V. Patel, MD, MBA, presenting at our Grand Rounds on Friday, February 2nd, in the College of Medicine, Room 2117 at 12:00 pm.

Dr. Patel is currently an Interventional Radiology fellow at Northwestern University having previously completed diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. His clinical interests include Yttrium-90 therapy for liver tumors as well as superficial and deep venous disease. Most recently, his research has focused on cost and reimbursement for various minimally invasive therapies offered by Interventional Radiologists.

Abstract: Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma continues to evolve with multiple Interventional Radiology treatments available for patients with various stages of disease. As treatment evolves, however, the imaging followup and criteria for assessing response have also changed. This talk aims to explore the imaging findings that are unique to patients who have received IR treatments for HCC.
