Identifying Individuals At Risk for Neurodegenerative Disorders: The Role of Neuroimaging in the Prevention of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease

The Department of Medical Imaging is pleased to have John Seibyl, MD, presenting at our Grand Rounds on Wednesday, April 27th, in DuVal Auditorium at 12:00 pm. 

John P. Seibyl, MD, is Executive Director and Senior Scientist at the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders and Managing Director and Co-Founder of Molecular Neuroimaging, newly joined with inviCRO, based out of New Haven, Connecticut, USA. During Dr. Seibyl's fellowship training, he was recruited to the Diagnostic Radiology faculty and was appointed the Director of the NeuroSPECT Center within the Yale School of Medicine ; a clinical brain imaging research lab in the Section of Nuclear Medicine. Subsequently, he served as Chief of the Section of Nuclear Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital  and is currently Associate Clinical Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Yale University. Dr. Seibyl has won numerous grants and contracts over the course of his 22-year career in brain imaging, including in 2015 the Kuhl-Lassen award for excellence and innovation in brain imaging.  He helped develop and test the visual read algorithm for the PET amyloid agent Florbetaben (Neuroceq). Dr. Seibyl served on the editorial board of the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, is a frequent reviewer and author for top-tier nuclear imaging journals, and serves on international panels for his work in neurodegenerative disease imaging.
