Title:  Diversity Series Grand Rounds: Women in Medicine

Speakers:  Patricia Lebensohn, MD; Archita Desai, MD, MPH; and Khadijah Breathett, MD, MS

     The Department of Medical Imaging is pleased to have Patricia Lebensohn, MD; Archita Desai, MD, MPH; and Khadijah Breathett, MD, MS, presenting at our Grand Rounds on Wednesday, April 18th, in DuVal Auditorium, at 12:00 pm. 

     Patricia Lebensohn, MD, is a board certified family physician that has additional training in psychiatry, family therapy and integrative medicine.  She joined the Family and Community Medicine department in 1993 and has functioned in different roles, co-director of the Behavioral Health Program for the residency, Residency Program Director from 1999-2007 and Associate Head for Clinical Affairs 2003-2007. As the Residency Program Director, Dr. Lebensohn helped develop the Sports Medicine and the Integrative Family Medicine fellowships, which she continues to direct. Since 2007, she has served as a mentor in the College of Medicine Societies Program and has developed an online curriculum in Integrative Medicine. She has a special interest in maternal-child health, women’s health, behavioral health, integrative medicine and cross-cultural aspects of medicine. 

     Archita Desai, MD, MPH, is board certified in internal medicine, gastroeneterology and transplant hepatology. She joined the Department of Medicine and the College of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Desai received her MD in Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, San Francisco, and her MPH Public Policy and Management from the University of Arizona, here in Tucson. She received the 2017 Clinical and Translational Research Award in Liver Disease and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Foundation in Fall 2017.

     Khadijah Breathett, MD, MS, is an assistant professor in the UA College of Medicine - Tucson, Division of Cardiology, a member of the UA Sarver Heart Center and a heart failure specialist with the Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Cardiac Transplantation Team at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson.

     She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. Dr. Breathett's clinical interests include heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory devices, and women's health.
