Musculoskeletal Radiology

Our Mission and Philosophy of Care

The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging Division at the University of Arizona is dedicated to excellence in clinical work and research. We interpret more than 300 radiographic (X-ray) studies, 20-40 cross-sectional studies with MRI, CT and ultrasound, and 10 dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) studies per day.  In addition, we perform image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint or bursal injections and aspirations, as well as ultrasound-guided calcium lavage.  Bone and soft tissue biopsies and radiofrequency tumor ablation procedures are performed in collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Division.  We collaborate closely with the departments of Orthopedic Surgery, Athletic Medicine, Rheumatology and Pediatrics on a daily basis. We have in-house subspecialty coverage on a daily basis from 6 am until 8 pm, as well as regular subspecialty weekend coverage.
